# My Log Book for the Reproducible Research MOOC

## Module 1: Note books and Lab books

- I started module 1 on 17/07 and completed it on 07/08/2021.
- I have completed all quizzes and exercises
    - Grade 100% for Quizzes 1, 3, 4 and 5
    - Grade 67% for Quiz 2
    - Grade 100% for Exercise 1

In this module, I learned about the importance of note-taking and note-keeping, but also the importance of writing intelligent notes that you will be able to retrieve in the future.
With the advent of informatics, note taking is made easier. However, we should use the appropriate tools and note-taking systems to make the best of this advent.

This module familiarized me with many new concepts and tools, namely:

1. __GitLab__
2. Markup languages, such as __Markdown__, a lightweight markup language
3. __Pandoc__, which allows conversion of markdown files into other formats
4. Version management
5. Labelling notes
6. Finding keywords and labels through desktop search engines, such as __DocFetcher__
